I bought a Corcea clam about a week ago and had it in the sand bed. The tank is 30" deep and I have 2 250 xm10k and pc actinics. I would like to move the clam up about 20" so it will be about 10" under water. Would this have any negative effects on the clam or do you all think it would be okay?

I have a baby crocea sitting on my sand bed ~24 inches down now about 6 months old. He's a tough lil guy doing well under 175W 10K, and even faired well when I moved my tank three weeks ago.

Is your clam doing well at the 30" level? If so I'd leave him if not
move him up. I the wild they are used to strong light.

Good luck

a good referance is to simply check mantle extension, if the Crocea looks as if it is over extended or really reaching for the light, then it is to far away from a light source. if not, your probly in the clear.
