How do anemones put up with sand?

If a goby swims by and drops sand on them.

That is assuming the goby can get close to its territory. I know my female GSM will destroy the goby before it can even come anywhere near its anemones.

i agree, the goby will probably give the anemone a wide berth. if he does spit sand on the anemone, the anemone can get it off and will move if it becomes habit. i know lots of people who keep both and there usually isn't any problems.
