How do I lower Alkalinity?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone out there could direct me in the right direction on lowering alkalinity.

Right now I am running a Geo 612 Calcium reactor and only have a have a PH probe in the sump which is also telling me PH is at 8.2 but have no way of telling what it is in coming out of the reactor. I did a manual test of the aquarium water and am getting a reading of 8.2 for PH.
I had the LFS test alkalinity and they say it is at 15 right now which I know is high.

Question is do I slow down the effluent drip or speed it up? Also I was running the bubble counter at about 2 bubbles per second and have the aquarium plants regulator.

Help I am lost

Thank you

Just leave it alone without adding anything and it should drop in a day or two. A water change can help a little, better if the salt you use has lower dkh.

YOu will need to shut down the calcium reactor until your alk drops where you want it, which will not take that long like stated above. Then you will need to adjust the reactor's alk output to meet demand.
