How do I make it?

I highly recommend making your own LR, it's something what you can make with it.

I've made some really nice looking stuff, and I'm still learning.

I'm making some changes trying to increase the strength of the result because I've had so much breakage on the more detailed pieces. (in fact i have a post on this board about it)

Pictures just don't do well made DIYLR justice.. They cant show just how porous it is. You can actually turn on the water hose full blast and the water will run through the rock so fast that you only have a small ~3 inch wet area... Also the pictures cant show the 20+ caves in one 25lb piece.

I'm really thinking about starting a side business with my brother in law selling the stuff.

We would be selling it cured, but not life covered at those prices. If it works out we might start selling coralline covered pieces instead.

I know personally I would have loved a source of LR that would let me start up a 100g tank with 150lbs of LR for just $200 after shipping.

I wonder if you could somehow make an aquarium using the cement. Would if you got the mold of the shape of aquarium you wanted, put the front glass on it, then covered the mold with cement. It would only be viewable from one side....but so are those plywood tanks. It might be a bit heavy....

I know of a guy that built a 1500 gal in his living room. It was concrete constructin. He sealed it using www.sanitred.com waterproofing products.

The problem with all concrete is that "all concrete cracks". Block, brick stone/mortar same thing. The need for a completely reliable waterproofing system is absolutely necesarry. Epoxy just won't do the trick.
