How do I stop a flushing drain?

I have a single center overflow with 2 1" drains. I built and installed durso stand pipes on the drains. Every 5-10 seconds I get a larger rush of water through the drains, sometimes alternating between the 2, sometimes at the same time. I guess I never noticed before because the drains used to run into a common sump area, but I seperated the 2 tanks and am now using a new sump and the rush of water is causing some issues (not to mention a little noise).

How can I stop this flushing effect? I tried to make the holes in the durso larger, but that did not do it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Have you tried restricting your return? I'd try that first. Or you could try inserting airline tubing in the hole on your durso then put an air valve on it, so had finer control of the air for the durso.

make sure the drain line from your tank to your sump does not loop up at all.

I think that did it! Seems strange that something as simplie as that could be the issue, but it is much better.

Thanks very much!

I had the same problem for the longest time then JeeMann noticed that my pipes dropped down and then looped back up. so we moved it and the problem was gone:)!!!!
