How do I stop my canister filter from producing micro bubbles?

I have a Fluval canister filter that has recently been spewing non-stop micro bubbles. So I took it offline, but I'd like to get it working properly again.

I guess that somewhere, air is being sucked in. The gasket on the top seems fine. Maybe the flexible hose?

Anyone had this problem before? Suggestions?

Thanks!

It could be the hose or where the hose is connected to the fluval or bulkhead.. If anything, that would be the first place I would check.. Particularly the input side. If it were on the output side, you would more than likely be seeing a leak. Is it possible that the place where the water is being sucked in be it your tank or sump is close enough to the waters surface that it's drawing air from there?

Thanks for your thoughts, slief. The intake is plenty deep below the surface, so I doubt it's that. It could be where the flex hose attaches to the rigid intake tube. I should check all flex tube attachment points.

Prime it better? I have a Rena and it will run if not filled up all the way and constantly spit bursts of air. (micro-bubbles)
I then have to take off top an fill it up more.
Just a thought.

Yes, it's the same with mine. I've always been able to stop the bubbles until now, which makes me think it's something new. Thanks, Reefer07. I'll keep trying.
