Is healthy or not? what are signs of a healthy clam. I just recently purchased my first clam this weekend. I really think they are cool and want to learn more about them. So any pointers or info on them would be great. any special suppliments or feedings? i do have the proper lighting though that is for sure.

here are a couple of pics of him in my tank. at first i had him in the sand but since the depth of my tank is 32" i moved him up about half way on a ledge so he is closer to the light.

I don't have any idea, but since I want to get one, I am gonna tag along and find out along with you.

That clam looks very healthy to me.
cool! yeah he actually looks more opened up in my tank then he did in the store. and i also think that he is under more light than they had him in, in the store. Which type of clam is it that is bright green in color? I would like to get one of them too. I think i really like these little guys. i think what i will do is wait a while and see how he does, and if everything looks ok i'm gonna get a little collection of these. mybe a few of them in little groups. and maybe some loaners scattered about the rock work. and get some nice sps stuff at the upper portion of the tank.

squamosa's, maxima's and crocea's are the types you can find green in. I have 26 clams in my 120g reef, I just love them. Just read the sticky's at the top of the clam forum and there is tons of good info in there
