How do I treat ick without removing fish?

Who starts these rumers that changes to the tank caused ich? The only thing that causes ich is ich, its a parasite nothing causes it. Its just is.

I haven't added anything to my tank for months and had 0 signs of ick. About a week ago I adjusted some rock structures, did a 50 gallon water change, added 3 new power heads and upgraded 1 of my pumps by about 1500 gallons per hour. 2 days later I had very noticeable ick on 3 tangs and 1 trigger.

If those changes didn't bring the ick up, what would you suggest did? I'm sure you guys know much more about it than I do, this is my first outbreak in 10 years

Stress that will weaken immune systems can let signs of ich present itself but the parasite had to be there to begin with. What else have you added to the tank that was "wet" rock, fish, or invert wise?

It's been a few months since I've added any fish, but the last addition was a larger purple tang, the last of the tangs I planned to add. All fish seems to get along fine minus the occasional chasing of the Achilles by the Naso.

The purple isn't showing any signs of ick, but the Achilles, powder blue and blue throat are.

Sometimes that's just how it goes.

In my recent ich outbreak, the first fish to show signs was my Magnificent Foxface, who are generally supposed to be very resistant to ich due to their thick and frequently shed mucus coating. My tang (the "Ich Magnet") did not show any symptoms until several days later. My firefish and blenny never showed any symptoms at all.
