how do u feed a bubble tip and how often and what to feed it the idots at the store were no help they just want to sell the product and get u out of the store

I feed mine about every four days they seem to like silversides I just take one and put it by it's mouth and it does the rest.

Ha, I can't feed mine. If the shrimps or hermits dont steal the food, my female perc will take it out and spit it in a corner of the tank. She hates the BTA being fed.

After placing it in the tank, I would leave it alone for about a week. That will give it a chance to "settle-in" and find a spot it likes. Although feeding is not actually necessary, it will accept and appreciate being fed small pieces of meaty foods such as silversides, shrimp, mysis, etc. I feed mine about once every 3 days or so with a long wooden stick (like you would use for a shish-ka-bob). I lightly touch the fish to the nems tentacles. They are sticky and will grab the food off the stick. Be gentle and cautious not to jab the nem. Never try to force feed. If it doesn't want it, doesn't like it, or is not hungry, it will let the fish go. You should then get the food out of the tank (Unless a tank mate eats it).

I agree with bsmith. Give it a bit of a break in period first.

For feeding, I use a small plastic syringe and use minced silversides/mysis/cyclopeeze. They love it!

How large is the Nem? I have an 18" GBTA that will eat (2) 3" shimp, every other day.
I agree with the others, wait awhile before trying to feed. I also use the wooden skewers to feed.

The smaller the food the better. They can digest small pieces of food easier. I mince up shrimp, clam, squid, tuna, scallop, and other seafood. Then I squirt it into the anemone's tentacles with a turkey baster.

I feed mine mysid and small pieces of silversides every three or our days. I use a turkey baster like mentioned above also.

I buy large scallops at the grocery store, take them home and dice them into 1/4 - 1/2" cubes, then freeze them in a tupperware container. Whenever it's time to feed i take one with my grabber, hold it in the tank until it thaws a bit and then brush it against my gbta's tentacles. It loves em!
