Ok i have a few corals that i need to attach. I have tried the aqua stuff) white puddy (sp?) stuff and gave up after it not sticking 5 times. I can not remove the rocks from the tank so super glue will not work. Anyone have any other options?

Thanks

Mike

Mike,

What kind of Corals? My Xenia I just tucked in between a couple of rocks and they attached them selves and going great. Other from those I don't know. Mine came attached to rocks already.

Green mont and a brown with purple monti. Also have some other sps. They are on rocks but if i done attach them some how my snails, crabs, urchin knocks them down. Then my gobby bures them.

I'm not sure what your gobby does to them, but one way you use putty is a) out of water, superglue the frag to a rock that's got some substance to it. Let it set enough. b) get a wad of putty, and stick it to the rock on the side that will be pinned down by another rock. Holding same carefully, because while fresh, it will fall off---lower frag into place, set the rocks, and hold them pressed that way until the putty has a little time to set. Once the putty has set up, it hardens in the shape of the frag's rock and the adjacent rocks, as mortar does around a brick. At that point it could be lifted off, but can't be shoved off sideways. HTH.

I will have to try it that way. Some of the fags that i have goten to stay are now comming loss. I used puddy to hold them too. So i have to go and fix all them.

Thanks for the sujestion.

I use superglue to mount corals to rocks underwater. If you have problems with it sticking try putting a little glue on to the underwater rock first. With your finger or on a piece of plastic rub some super glue on the underwater rock and work it in, then apply super glue to your frag or the rock it's mounted to and work the two rocks together in your tank.
