How do you attach the magenet holders to the wavebox?

Picked up my wavebox today. Can't wait to try it out. I have perimeter bracing around the top of my acrylic tank, so I'm forced to use the magnets. I'm going to take my 6100's out for the time being so I can use the magnets to try out the wavebox.

So, how do you hook the magnets up to the wavebox?

There does not appear to be a way to center the magnets on the box.
With the left and right sliding units, I assume you use one on the top and one on the bottom. However due to the way they fit one magnet will be sticking out on the right side, and the other will stick out on the left side.

Am I not seeing this right?

The pic in the manual makes it look like the magnet holder fits dead center on the box and flush with the top and bottom.

They should be dead center, their are two keyhole notches on the magnet that two pegs slide into, that is what the push to release buttons are for.

Oh, so you don't use any of the installation pieces that came with the box at all then???

If so, that would be great. I love your products, but those brackets and screws just drive me nuts. You should charge extra and just supply the heavy dute magnets. Looks much cleaner in the tank and world's easier to install.

One last question, what is the minimum amount of space I can get away with between the top of the box and bottom of my tank perimeter bracing?

Right, no bracket pieces are used. As long as it wouldn't be fully covered you could be right up to it.
