How do you bring back a bleached Hammer?

I hate to give bad news to a Gator fan! It just aint right!

There is very little you can do. Make sure the iodine level is right in your tank and hope that it didn't completely bleach. Try to deturmin why it bleached. To much/not enough light or maybe element deficiency like iodine. Try to fix what ever may have caused this. Good luck!

I am pretty sure it bleached because of chemicle warfare. When I say it bleached, I mean it completely bleached. You can barley see the green and it completely lost its purple tips.

I bought one once that was pretty bad. I fed the tank reefplus every few days, The coral could absorb the nutrients & live off of them while it recovered its zooxanthalae. Total process took about 8 weeks to reach back to full color.

Those are secondary pigments. The algae within the coral are brown. If it servives it will start turning brown in spots as the algae reproduce. Desertbandits brought up a good point. If you can get it to feed it will have a much better chance of survival. It's not getting the nurishment it needs from its algae anymore.

Yes I know, the zooxanthellae algae has a brownish look to it.

How do I get my hammer to feed? Mine has always been stubborn about feedings. Got any suggestions. I really don't want this coral to die.
