how do you get an anemone to stay somewhere?

i placed my rbta in what seemed to me to be an ideal spot, yet it still moves.
I am trying to get 2 pairs of clowns so i want my anemones to be in different corners of the tank... advice is appreciated.

bta's move all over the place. It is very hard to get them to stay put. The like to keep their foot in crevices in the rocks. They are known for never staying at the place we want them to stay but the place they want to stay.

A moving BTA is an unhappy BTA (( or any anemone for that matter )). Need to figure what what is making it unhappy (( could be too much flow, not enough, too much light, not enough, etc )), and fix it. I no longer keep BTAs, but the last one I had never moved, just its clones.

What usually works for me is to take a piece of LR and I drill a large hole in it but not entirely thru it. I place this rock at about mid level (depending on lighting) and in the center of the tank. I've never had one move once doing this.

keep in mind BTA's like good lighting and good flow

hope this helps

I do know that they go where they want, i just read that people have tricks... so...
I placed it where it seems to be perfect it stayed there for a while, bubbling and looking great, and then it moved, so i tried to reposition it again, and it wouldnt attach for more than a few mins...

Providing it with the items it is looking for such as food, light, and flow will help to ensure it stays where you want it. Try feeding it even if it doesn't accept it. BTA's like to have their foot in a dark area with the disk extended into the light. Placing it between rocks or in a hole helps. Flow should be gentle to allow it to inflat without being whipped around.
