how do you handle the frag without damaging it?

Hi, just wondering if you have techniques or strategies to avoid rubbing off the corals tissue while putting it in your tank. I find it impossible not to kill some small spots when placing a frag in my tank.

I've handled all of my SPS colonies by hand and never had any tissue rub off. I'm not even particularly delicate with them anymore as they are much more resilient then most people give them credit for.

+1 ange062. I used to be sooo careful then one day really abused one by mistake and it was fine so now I try to be gentle but don't sweat it anymore and they are always ok.

I was fragging one day and by accident busted a colony into many pieces which flew off the counter and under the 'frig. After dusting and rinsing them off they were no worse for the wear...

I agree that they are very resilient. Something other than you handling them is causing your issue.

don't really worry about it at all. I typically glue my frags horizontally which takes out a lot of tissue but they encrust faster... although if you send me some le fleurs i'll tell you the secret.

Loll....this made my cereal fly out of my mouth and under the fridge

Try not to drop them or shoot them across the room while cutting. Harder sps have a tendency to fly across the room when cut.

They are pretty tuff IME.
Never really done too much damage just gluing them in by hand. All the "handling" damage seems to heal up and grow back pretty fast.
