I am becoming over run by 'pink pally' zoanthids. They are overgrowing other more attractive zoanthids. Is there an easy method to target kill these zoas?

You can see them in the top left of the photo. The rocks they are attached to are NOT removable from the display, so I need a method that will only burn/kill them alone so I can save the neighboring zoas!!!

please HELP!!!

I'm not sure you can do anything that won't kill your other zoas aside from attempting to pluck off the specific offending polyps.

i'm sure joes juice will probably kill them if fed to the individual polyps. it does the job for aptasia so why not zoas. just be careful and do a few at a time.

There are folks that will pay good $$$ for pink zoas. Frag them & glue to rocks/plugs or whatever & sell them for cheap.

Those look like "tulip anemones" and yes they are a pest anemone and not a zoanthid.

Edit: Nevermind, thought you were talking about the things in the front ;) Those are tulip anemones aren't they?

lol, well, I don't know what they are for sure, but when I bought them they were I think called 'peach pallys'... I have SOOooo many zoas, It's hard to know which are considered pests... But this variety grows like mad compared to the others, I wouldn't mind killing them all honestly, they are choking out more attractive things.

That thing in front looks like a GBTA.

You could very well be right, I was thinking a little cluster of tulip anemones but now that I compare perspective it's a little bigger than that.

I ended up removing all the problem zoanthids with forceps... grasping them by the base and ripping them out. Some came out in clumps, some just ripped into pieces. But it got the job done and the zoas are at a managble population now. I may try fragging these sometime and selling them... but I wouldn't wish these on my worst enemy.

-thanks.
