How do you know you are over AEFW?

Had these and Monti nudis! The main acros that showed damaged Seem to be regaining colour and looking happier. Does that mean I am over it or shall I keep my eye out for future signs?
 
What was your method of getting rid of them? I tried for a year before I "did it right" and it's been 6 months. I still am paranoid and looking for them...
 
You know your over it when you grab a six pack and sit on the couch and say "I'm over it" then watch family guy and American dad
 
I would guess 3 months without seeing one. I tought I might have gotten rid of mine after not seeing one in a whole month, then today one fell off a coral during a dip...
 
Haven't actually seen any bit had a few acros with bite marks and one with eggs! Dipped every week for 5 weeks in dettol, used as an antiseptic product in the uk. I have seen no eggs since and bite marks are healing
 
Thats funny I was just gonna post this same question. I had aefw and lost the few acros I had. That was back in September/October. Added some acros 2 weeks ago so far so good but wanting to buy a few more...am I good? How long should I wait?
 
I would say yes due to there being no acros in the tank for so long. Maybe just kep the two you have a month to six weeks to be safe
 
Hard to say in my experience I thought I had them gone a few times then found them again months later, whether I was rid of them and then re-adding them, or they were there all along I will never know.
 
I superglue my frags to pieces of rubble so I can inspect them. I wish I would've done that the first time around would've saved me some aggregation while dipping.
 
Well it seems I am not over them, bit down about it but what can I do.

The main ones affected first time around were my acro nana and a tabling acro, both seem alot happier now. However, found another one that looked a but pale and on closer inspection I found bite marks so today I started dipping again.

Should I dip like I did last time, every week for five weeks?

I am moving and upgrading my tank iat the start of June and was hoping to be over this by that time but it seems that won't be the case. I still have not found one worm though, found eggs on the green table acro right at the start but no more since.

At least with nudi's you can see them, any tips in spotting the little buggers?
 
Did you dip only the affected corals or all acros in your tank? I don't know how effective dettol is, I use revive and it kills them pretty quickly
 
All acros, the fertile is great ad very stron, in fact a few corals today don't look too happy after dipping :-( it kills everything, asterina, crabs etc
 
You never do!! I thought I was done with those bastards 3 times. months later, there they are again. I hate them!The only way I got rid of them for good was to dump all my acros and start over. :blown:

yeah my vote goes for "after your tank has gone for 2 months with no acros in it at all and then you buy a frag of efflo, solitariensis or nana (or other coral delcious to AEFW) and let it grow for a month and a half. if it colors up, doesn't get eaten up and seems to thrive, then you're on track.

I had AEFW 5 years ago and it took getting rid of all of my acros to clean the tank.

Now if i get a frag and a SINGLE AEFW falls off, the frag goes in the trash and I consider the cost of the frag a fee for keeping my tank AEFW free.
