How do you like to qt new fish?

I hope to pick up several new fish this next week and was wondering what kindof qt methods everyone likes to use? I have a 75 gallon tank set up and cycled ready to go. Do you like to start them out with copper right away, hypo salinity, or just watch them to see how they do? I really dont want to mess with tank transfer.
I am putting my display tank through a 72 day quarantine period with all my fish being held in the 75 gallon. They finally get out of prison this tuesday and I plan on putting some new arrivals into the 75 gallon qt tank. Just curious if I should just start right out with copper. Planning on several tangs which are know to be parasite magnets.
thanks
Jeff

I use safety stop rapid fish quarantine made by blue life USA then I put the fish in a quarantine tank for 30 days and watch, no other treatments unless it's necessary.

TTM is very easy, why do you say you don't want to mess with it? IMO it is much easier than any of the alt treatment choices.

I plan on buying as many as 8 fish and the only tank that I have as a spare is the 75 gallon and a little 10 gallon. I don't think I would put that many fish into a 10 gallon tank to use as one of the transfer tanks. That is my concern with doing ttm. Planning on a powder blue, purple tang, moorish idol and 4 anthias.
Thanks
Jeff

8 fish at one time?

I put fish in QT and get them eating and eating well before starting any treatment (TTM and Prazipro) then observe the fish for a total of at least 30 days after completion of TTM

8 fish at one time?

The OP will have real issues trying to QT 8 fish in a 75g tank no matter how much filtration is on the tank. Aggression will become a huge problem especially with the fish that were named. Also a 10g is completely useless for anything other than treating a sick anemone. You can't even put a smallish fish in a 10g for 30 days. To the OP I have 2-125g tanks that will be hooked together for my QT system and I think 8 fish in a total of 300g of QT volume(with sump) is pushing it

+1

Trying to QT more than 1-2 fish at a time introduces too many variables IMO. You could be introducing multiple pathogens at a time, making treatment extremely difficult. Nothing good happens quickly in this hobby.

I have a 180 gallon display tank that will have a med size yellow tang, sailfin, and powder brown. I was hoping to limit the amount of aggression that would be put on a single fish when introduced into the display by adding several fish at once. Especially since I would like to add a powder blue and a purple tang which I would be afraid of being picked at pretty bad being the new guys. I guess I could do those 2 first and add the moorish idol next and then the 4 anthias or any other combination. I currently have 7 fish in my 75 gallon qt tank and they have been doing good.

My personal experience - if you start your QT/treatment with 8 new fish, the way you originally planned, you will likely end QT/treatment with 1-2 fish alive. If you start with 1-2 fish, you will still end with 1-2 fish alive. :) I recommend to save your time/money/effort and avoid killing 6-7 fish.

Get some small grey brute trash cans from home depot to do the TTM, it is easier than using the tanks mentioned.

A brute can, 1 fish, couple gallons of new salt water and a few drops of Prime, and move per schedule. Easiest to have two setups, and let the second setup clean/dry while fish is in first setup.

As mentioned before, it is best to have 1 QT tanks to hold 1 fish before going to DT. The forum is full of instances where something like velvet could come on one fish and wipes out everything.

I would get the anthias and the idol, then the tangs if your going to do it

That was my next question as to which fish I should do at one time. Any reason why do the idol/anthias first over the purple/powder blue? Less tangs to pick on the idol? I see you are in engelwood. Are you active with worc?
thanks

Well I agree on the aggression part, especially with those fish, but 10 gallon is all I use for QT and treatment and so far it worked fine. I had up to 8 small fish (2 to 3 in) in 10 gallon quarantine tanks that did just fine over months. I use Red Sea Berlin Airlift skimmers and powerheads or hang on filters. Also the tanks are filled with artificial Real Reef rocks to provide hiding places.

Not really active with WORC but I do go to the swap. You want the anthias and idol first because they are the least aggressive
