i have a two small maroon clownfish try to pair them but they are beating up each other pls help. thank you..

Hi, the best way to pair maroons are to get a large specimen and put them with the smallest specimen you can find. If you get two small both will try to become dominant so they will fight.

By introducing a smaller specimen to a large one, the smaller one will submit to the large one.

Yup I used to have a large female and bought a small male to introduce to the female. The female used to beat up the male to near death so I would separate them and reintroduce them for 7 days straight till she finally left him alone.

I bought 2 small one like four days ago and I check today they start to come down the fights. Bit there fin and lips all torn out.

Best is to put the new smaller male in a floating breeder box, and let it sit near where the female stays.
Sometimes it can take a couple/few days before you can tell if she is angry or just curiously checking him out, and sometimes the female will just not accept certain males at all.
This is the safest way.

My LFS have essentially 100% success rate by putting the male in a floating container for a week or two before release him into the tank. He doing this ever few weeks, countless time in the past 14 years that I know him.
As for me, I have not keep a Maroon clown pair after the first pair for many, many years ago. Having experience their aggressiveness first hand, I have not try them again.

Yes they need to be in fish jail with visitation rights. That way they aclimate to each other with a bit of safety between them both.
