how do you pulse w/ controller 7091?

I have the Tunze 6100 w/ controller 7091, but can't seem to use the pulse mode. I followed the instructions, but doesn't seem to work. Bad controller? I bought both from marinedepot. Any sugestions?

Top knob all the way to one direction, bottom knob all the way to the other. Start without the photo cell so we can rule that out. Ste a time interval somewhere in the middle. Check by touch not site. You need to put your hand in the water to check.

So Roger, the one Tunze 6000 pulses by it self? Ok, I'll try that later tonight after I unplug the night photo cell. Thanks, Roger.

Pulse means it speeds up and slows down. That is all that controller can do. One pump going from two preset power levels every few seconds.
