How do you remove a clam attached to the rock?

I have a crocea that I placed in a little cubby hole in the rockworks when it was only 2 inches. Its now about 4 inches and the hole is now too small for it. I tried to move it but it seems its attached and I don't want to tear off anything. Any suggestions?

can you post a pic of the clam so we can see how far down in this hole it is.

My two cents is to not move it at all- if it extends, responds to light, it would/could cause more harm than good to move it- Croceas like burrowing into rockwork and spend their lives there in the wild- good luck-
