How do you vacation?!

Heather and I are leaving for Napa Valley for a week on Wednesday for our wedding/honeymoon, and it just really kind of hit me... What about the fish?!?!?

I feed pretty "heavy" I suppose, 2-5 times day (small amounts usually), so the fish look like little pigs with fins. Is this too long to leave them without feeding?

I have:
Oc Clown pair
Coral Beauty
Blue Hippo Tang
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Christmas Wrasse
...all are in the small side, And eat anything that falls into the tank.

What do y'all think?

Do you feed dry food? You could try one of those automated feeders. Lucky for me I have someone who can swing by and give the fish some food and be good.

Ask friend or LFS to come over to take care of your tank. Leave detailed instructions what to do( top off water, minerals, clean skimmer etc) and emergency phone numbers. Prepack food in ziplock bags or plastic containers. You can mark days of the week on them, so tank will not get overfeed.
Enjoy your vacation:D

Even if your fish may not need to eat, you still want someone to come by just to check on things (preferable someone with experience). Even though my tank is fully automated I still have someone stop by daily.

I always gave a trusted neighbor a key and detailed instructions. I prepped everything ahead of time and left the LFS number with them too. If they're REALLY trusted neighbors/family you might leave a credit card or cash with them too.

Also, have fun in Napa! that sounds like an awesome vacation. I'm a wine snob, so I'd eat that stuff up. You should really try to hit up some of the smaller production wineries and one or two of the mondo ones. Keenan and Miner are two great ones that come to mind.

That's one good thing about living close to relatives.... tank baby sitters. Plus it's easier to yell at relatives when they do something stupid, like not topping off water because the tank (display) is full..... yet the sump is dry as a bone.
