Notice the way his claws are made. They bow out and come together at a point. They aren't saw like as i have seen on some hitchhiker crabs. This one is very much like a mithrax crab.
Over the years I had seen him (or should I say her) once in a while but was never able to nab the little bugger. Periodically there has been a chunk or two missing from a leather but I wasn't ever able to catch the criminal in the act. It has to be either this crab or a large grey bristle worm (nearly a foot long). Think I should hunt down the bristle worm next?
She's cute! If she doesn't cause trouble, I'd almost be inclined to put her back into the DT. It's probably safer to keep her in the sump though, and if she's somewhere you can see her more often you may find she turns out to be a fun pet!
