I got this guy last night he was at the pet store for 2 weeks he was eating well and open. I took a chance and got him the manager said if he isn't looking good in 2 days bring him back. He cost 45 bucks  I don't even know what kind of anemone he is but the clown loves him, I would guess carpet? Anyways heres a few pics of him.

looks like a bleached seabae too me. dont worry thought if under the right conditions, it will color up to a nice tan color with purple tips.

its a H. crispa - sebae.

it doesnt look too bleached, but it will probably color up. thats pretty expensive, where i live i can get BIG ones for 30 bucks, but every area is different...

Let me guess...California? You guys get anything pacific much cheaper than about 90-95% of the rest of america. But, then again, you guys pay out the ears for ricordia florida:).

dave12678...u need to feed him 3 times a week for the 1st month or until his brown/tan color returns...hold off on clowns until his color starts to come back.

cschweitzer and big brother, try living in Oklahoma. Everything is more here, next house I buy will be somewhere on the coastal US. Or maybe I'll just grow a tail (or two) and live IN the ocean.

I will post a pic tomarrow to see if you guys think I should take him back or keep him. The clown is loving it right now. The anemone doesn't seem to mind hes not acting much different then he was at the pet shop.

That nem looks a lot healthier than the one I just got...mine looks like a baby cousin of yours, just a lot smaller and a little more bleached. Ehh, I got it for $15 knowing it would be a challenge, one I hope I am up for:).

my ricodia florida cost me about 5 dollars a polyp .. =P put that in your skimmer and smoke it!

seriously, i hate you. i pay 30 a polyp out here at LFS. i can find people on boards that will sell them for 10, but thats rare.

I've seen crispa's in worse shape (I had one!) We were able to give it some tlc and nurse it back to health. These typically appreciate the sand (which yours is in already), good lighting (most respond very well to MH lighting), and regular feedings of meaty sea foods. As stated, yours is a little bleached, but it also looks like it hasn't had a good meal in a while, so it will definately appreciate feedings :)

As it gets healthier expect the color to darken, the tentacles to lengthen, and growth in general.

Watch the mouth, it should usually be closed well. They will open from time to time to expell waste though as well as expand and contract while it gets used to its new surroundings.

Good luck!

Here are some new pics. I have notice that the clown will run out to eat then run back to him, over and over. Is the clown trying to feed him? I did see the anemone grab some food the other day.
