How high can fish jump?

How high can a fish jump above the water-line in a tank?

I have an in-wall display and I plan on making a three sided removable perimeter screen to stop fish from jumping. I was thinking 12" high would be good, should I make it higher? I will mostly be keeping 3" fish (wrasse, goby, firefin, assessor, anthias) in the tank with maybe one dwarf angel as my last fish. Currently I have 3 carpenter wrasse's that are doing great.

Thanks.

Difficult to predict. I would guess/think 24 inches should be ok. At least for the ones normally found in aquaria.

21" tall, overall dimensions are 48x18x21. I can't see 24" jumpers even if they used the full length of the tank to build up speed.

Well, I have seen them hit 12 inches frequently. In my tank they bounce off the hood. But pay your money, take your chances.
