How I caught a bad fish

Step 1-Introduce you container. I left it for 3 days w/ no bait so the fish can get use to it's presence.

Step 2-Prepare your bait .I use a baby food jar and some fine mesh as a bait holder so the fish couldn’t get to the food and devour it.

Step 3-When the fish you want swims in pull the whole thing out bet careful they may jump so have the lid handy and pop it on ASAP. Most likely there will be more than just the fish you want in the container so I just put them all in a 5 gallon bucket and netted the ones I want to keep and returned them to the tank. I have found that tangs and surgeons will readily enter the container even if there is no food in the trap. Dwarf and Pygmy angles are very sketchy around the container but with time 1-2 weeks of conditioning they will have no problem going in and trying to get the bait.

I hope this helps!
Thanks ed Simmons

Thanks Mark It works like a charm for Tangs and Surgeons but I have a Potter’s Angle that is driving me nuts! and he refuses to enter the container! It’s be 2 days of trying to catch him and I sure hope I can soon cuz he’s picking at my favorite corals!

That's in a Naso vlamingi in the last pic not the blonde naso and he is just in there for example purposes.I LOVE my blonde naso she is the only fish i've ever had that will activly eat bubble alage.Naso's and sweet fish and very mellow but they get BIG.I'm planing on a larger tank soon.

I’ve used this method to catch a white cheek surgeon and a big’ol maroon clown.
