How is my new Gigantea so far?

This is day 2. I put it in the tank late last night. It was late, I only had time to prepare a spot for it and then hit the sack. I woke up today with it flipped over in the sand. I moved it up in the rockwork to maybe a more suitable place, at least I hope. It has been in the tank about 20 hours now, it has yet to attach. Unfortunately I have a garden of corals already so wherever I put it I need it to stay, my mistake... I managed to put a small tear in it at some point (or it was there when I bought it and just didn't notice, although I inspected it for a LONG time (not days because this particular shop is about 3 hours away). I tried to sort of net it down with some small pieces of rubble on 4 corners of a piece of veil, then changed my mind and made a little rock circle for it and lowered the flow. Hopefully it will attach overnight tonight and I can up the flow sometime tomorrow. So for all the long time keepers of giganteas out there, please give me your words of wisdom from the pictures I post. Also note, that it seems to be a bit flaccid, it doesn't hold any shape very well it just gets blown around with the current.

I'm sorry James, but lots of warning signs here. Nem should attach within hours, and the tear you put in it could easily be fatal. Also, while I've certainly seen worse mouths, healthy ones are usually a lot lighter than that.

I wish you the best of luck, but this is a bad start. Nothing I love more than a saved nem story though. Wishing you the best.

Well the lights have been out now for about an hour and a half. It is now attached, I don't know how stong the hold is, but it's secure. BUT now it has shrunk a GREAT deal. Pretty much the whole disk is only as big around as the foot now. This is the first time it has happend. It hasn't shrank any since I put it in the the tank, it did nothing but get larger and larger (seeming to be more and more flaccid). Now It's time to sleep and hopefully wake up, and everything is all better. One could only wish right?

I've been there bud. Seems likes with most nems if you can get a few months under your belt you got a keeper.

Update... it still looks like it did day 1, which IMO doesn't look bad. Althought everynight when it was on the rock it would shrink up enough to fall through the cracks of the rock (thank god i made sort of a cave under my rockwork so i could get it out). So yesturday I decided to leave it in the sand (i dug a little hole for it to attach). Then i took some bridal veil andand layed it over top of it with rocks at all corners so it wont float around, and it will hopefully attach to the glass bottom within a few days and heal. The problem is, it's not getting a whole lot of flow down there, or my sand would blow all over. Last night it did not shrink at all, and today it SEEMs to be looking ok. I will leave the veil on for a few days hopefully long enough for it to recover and attach, i really dont think it liked me reaching my had in everyday to move it/ dig it out from the rockwork cave.
