How long before the yellow tang quits?

By the time I get a different one and thru QT, the powder brown would just be established and possibly aggresive to new tangs anyway, that's why a sohal is the best choice, just not sure if I want to risk it. A 2" sohal won't be too mean to everything would it? The tank is all open caves on bottom and full swim space on the top half of the tank.

I am very confused on this thead. Did you get rid of the yellow tang or do you still have the eggcrate up? As long as the PBT is not getting physically damaged, they should be alright. There is always going to be aggression when you start mixing tangs together, how you deal with there introductions to the tank makes all the differences in the world. Did you turn on the lights after you put them in the 1st day, or did you move any rockwork after they where mixed together? Was the YT being well fed the day you mixed them, or did you wait to fed him after you put him in the 125?

The eggcrate is still up.

I'm looking for a sailfin maybe and a magnificent foxface now.

I still have the yellow tang on the other side of the eggcrate.

I have had a naso for over a year.. and introduced a foxface about 6 months back.. They were best buds, eat together, and swim together.. I had a chance to get a fiji about 5 months ago, and put it in with the other 2.. well the foxface decided to fight.. and so I kept the figi, and sold the regular foxface. The naso accepted him as well. So at least you should be able to put these two together.. I have never seen either fish be aggressive with my smaller damsels, or gobis ..

I have seen yellow tangs in the same tank with koles..along with triggers and a wrasse... Maybe the secrete is to keep several (5 +) large fish.. ? Never did it, but the local fish stores seem to get by with it.. not sure why

keep in mind the sailfin can reach 15" and they are recommended for a minimum of 135g tang.
