How long can coral live without light?

My polyps, Xenias, and zoas, have gone without good lighting for 2 days now due to a fualty ballast. All the coral seem fine right now. Just ordered a new ballast hope it will get here before any real damage happens.

every so often I will do the "3 days, lights out" to kill any unwanted algae's and have never had any issues so I can personally say at least 3 days. you might be fine going 4, but i think 5 would be pushing it...GL

Thanks for the reply. It should be here today, and hopefully the light will be back to normal.
