How long do BTAs hide?

I got a BTA 2 days ago, and even though he stays inflated all day and night, and looks pretty healthy......he has stayed in the same, dark cave since the moment I put him in the tank. Should I be worried? How long do you think it will be before he comes out?

In a situation like this, always remember anemones are mobile and will go where they please. Assuming you have enough light it will settle in wherever it feels happy. It is possible depending on the light you have it could be too bright and he will only peak out for more once he's adjusted to the tank (sometimes can take a few months believe it or not)

Give it time and patience I'd say, and just keep an eye out that its inflated well, has a tight mouth unless expelling waste and keeps looking healthy

mine just did this for a week and this morning it is up on top and twice as big as it was when i got it

Right on! I cant really see its mouth....so i cant tell if its gaping or not.....but the tentacles are always inflated (day or night)........

OK, over the period of about 10 minutes this thing went from fully inflated to absolutely deflated......it looks sick.......

Don't panic yet. They do that as part of equilibrating the water inside them and out. Definitely keep an eye on him, but I wouldn't worry too much.

dont panic mine does the same thing... One time I will look at it and it is huge then next time I will walk by and totally shriveled up. I was in your spot worrying like crazy about him stressing myslef out over him. But if he is unhappy he will move till he is.

I had mine hide for 3 weeks with very little light hitting down. I would still feed it as it did eat with no problem. However I flipped the rock so he would be little bit lower and everything worked out. I have 2 others that started lower in the beginning.
Just thinking I had it to close from the start so the light was to much.

Right on1 Thanks for all the input......its just that we all put alot of effort, monetary and emotional, so when things start looking sour, I panic......
