OK, so I've had these trees for about six years now, and they do their thing, dropping the odd tip, and spreading like weeds... but within the last month, the original three (parent + 2 clones) have all shrivelled back with no polyps open at all, stretching down as though they're about to split via pedal laceration. They actually fluoresse green under 20000K, (more than the other colonies as the colour seems intensified by the lack of expansion) so it's safe to say they're not losing zooxanthellae!
Thing is, this is just the three oldest colonies; all the newer ones are perfect, growing as normal, some even pushing through the branches of the older colonies! I have changed the MH bulb, but this had started a couple of weeks earlier, so it's safe to say it's nothing to do with that.
Are they simply dying off at the end of their life? anyone experienced anything similar?
