How long does it take?

For two black false perculas to find their anemone?

In my case, over a year!

I'm embarrassed to admit that I went through six false black percs to find a healthy, compatible pair. One died the day after I bought him, two refused to eat, and one tiny one didn't get along with his two larger tankmates, and eventually succumbed. But the two I have now have been alive 'n' thriving since February of last year!

This is the LTA that I got in January of last year.

After three months in the same position, it moved to the back of my rockwork, where it got almost no flow at all. It shrivelled up regularly, but once I started feeding it every two weeks or so, seemed happy.

It's no wonder it took my percs so long to find it!:

Here are Big Mama and Baby Boy (with the orange nose):

They don't seem entirely wedded to their anemone, and spend most of their time roaming around the tank (especially if they think they're going to be fed)...but it's cute to see them playing around it:

And every night, just before the lights go off, they settle down ... and the anemone seems to like the company:

Baby Boy likes to hide halfway under the edge of the anemone at night, but I haven't been able to get a good pic of that :)

Only took a year, well worth the wait :)

Cheers,

congrats on them hosting. My true perc pair took about 3 yrs! And even at that time, it was only the female. She kept on "kicking" out the male, as if she was saying you're sleeping on the couch tonite. So it took a good few months before my female accepted the male :)
