How long for a clownfish to change sex?

So when I got an ocellaris clown I got the smallest one at the LFS. He just happened to have the best markings on him. I was going to add another ocellaris. I was wondering how long I should wait because I bought the smallest one... Or would I be fine if I just bought another small ocellaris?

I have paired orange ocellaris in the past easily. Would it be just as easy to pair an orange ocellaris with a black ocellaris compared to two orange? I'm kinda nervous because it is only a 10g tank.

When they're that small I'd say go for it and buy another small clownfish thats how they pair up in the wild so why not here. To answer your second question its exactly the same. They're the same species so pairing is the same. Overall a sex change will only happen in the presence of one dominant clownfish and one weak clownfish. The sex change can take from 2 weeks to 1 1/2 months.

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure how hard they were to pair different colors. I heard the black ones are a little harder to pair up/keep. Time to find a small b/w!
