I've kept this one 8 weeks now, and thats a record!!! the last 3 died in days - THEN I read here that a tank needs to be running more than 6 months so I waited til it had run 10 to be on the safe side. Its eating well and stays 'open' most of the time. Will my clown host in it?????? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
My green BTA's have been with me since basically the beginning and have been through PC's and T5's. I can't even count the number of times it's split. I sold one rock alone with 12 clones on it a couple of years ago. It's almost a plague.
RBTA going on 8th year now. Bleached when I first got it then it recovered. bleached again few years later then it recovered and now it's recovering froma third bleach. it gre a lot bigger around year 3-4 but then got smaller when i relocated for 2 years and it wasn't properly fed all the time. it only split once and that's after I tore it's foot a bit when trying to take it off one rock. still the small one disappeared in the rockwork and never surfaced again.
Almost 2 years. A beautifull rose. he got to be 16 inches across, I measured. Being that I only have a 75 gal. I decided to divide and sell 1 of them. That was 4 months ago. Now I have 2- 12 inch anemonies, but due to RC policy I can't try to sell it in CT. RC. untill I get 12 more posts in. Maybe next week.
Sebae anemone. Its in its fourth system now and only its second Clown fish and is over 16 years old. I bought it in late 1991.
You can just see the clown peeking out, he hardly ever gets more than a few inches away!
RBTA over 3 years old under VHO lights. It has split once and is about 12" in diameter. Even when it split it didn't get any smaller!! It takes up a lot of room in my 55 but I'll never get rid of it. My Tomato clown loves it and he's close to 8 years old and also huge.
I've had my LTA (I think) since it hitchhiked onto my LR when I started this hobby over 9 years ago. At first I thought it might have been a majano since it was so small (size of a dime) and contemplated killing it. Then I thought hey just try to feed it a little to see where that went. 9 years later it's over 12 inches with minimal feeding. It also started with PC lighting for the first 5 years. My clowns have been hosting in it ever since it got big enough to host them. I just recently added a RBTA that's been doing great as well. Hopefully I can get 9 more years from both of them!
