I hooked up my metal halide light last week and the bulb went out in about 6 days. Could heat have been a factor? Let me know something.

what kinda bulb and ballast?....i would double check all the connections

they should last a lot longer then 6 days....

Either you got a bad bulb, or something popped in the ballast. Heat isn't an issue with the bulbs, they run in unventilated fixtures all the time. A bulb should burn for atleast a year and usually a lot more. It should still light up fine when it is no longer putting out usable light. Maybe borrow a bulb from someone to see if it's you bulb or ballast before spending any money. Also check all you connections and breakers.

I checked all the connections and it was the bulb. I had my son stick his finger in the socket and put his hand in the tank. He agrees with me it was the bulb.
