2 weeks ago i bought a new bubble tip. its a really cool looking green/pink one that is sort of pearly colored, but i put it in my tank and he was fine where i put it all that day, next morning it was gone out of site. i looked for hours and hours but no where to be found. about a week ago i spotted it fully bloomed out under a rock then the next day gone again. now he has been in that same spot i saw it hiding under the same rock again for 2 days now, opened fully again tonight. i think i have way to much light on my tank for it and im sure it is just acclimating itself to the intense lighting i have... 2 radeon xr 30's over a 72 gallon bow. the lights are dialed way down but its still quite intense from what it was at the lfs... i was just looking for some tips on what to do, if anything with it.. probably just let it go and wait until it finds where it wants to be?

also will a majona hurt a bubble tip at all? i do have some of those in my tank that i have been exterminating slowly with a nice kalk breakfast for em, they seem to really like that

I don't think the lights are too strong.. once acclimated it will be fine. I would leave it alone for the first week or two..

if it's not getting ANY light for more than a few weeks, I'd move the BTA out. They can move, but doesn't mean they always find a good spot.

I move him out after a week or so. I mainly do this by moving the rock or moving the rock that shade him. I do not remove him from the rock he attached to.

WOW tonight with the lights out its sorta coming out from under that rock and maybe moving some, its fully opened and really huge. i think it has grown a lot since i bought it 2 weeks ago. after searching thousands of pics it might be a rainbow? its huge like 5 inches across too, i dont remember it being that big when i first got it. man she hooked me up down there for 75 bucks on this thing. its lime green colored with like pinkish tips that are really big bulbs with an orange base. i will get a pic if it ever actually comes out on top of a rock, hopefully soon here

i finally just picked it off the bottom of the rock and it is all shrunk up now and i tore up my tank in the process .. oh well i can rescape it tomorrow. but here is a pic of it and it doesnt really do it justice, its much more orange/pink colored on the tips than what ya see here

here is another pic more of top down looking

No that's not even close to a Colorado Sunburst.

well it has the same colorations.. again i just picked it off the bottom of a rock and put it where it sits like 5 minutes before these pics... to me it looks quite simliar. same green oracle base same orange foot same orange looking bubble and same bright green tips.... but you are probably right.. cant blame me for hoping. i know its about the coolest one i have ever owned.
