How long without light?

How long could I leave my BTA without light? We often go camping on weekends, leaving friday and coming back on sunday. We have always just left the lights off, because it was a FOWLR for years until I added the nem. How long can it go without light?

I wouldn't want to leave full light on while we were gone, ( i would do nothing but worry) but would it be better to leave just the actinics on?

Thanks again

Dropped a good amt of $ on a timer, haven't been able to get it to work as far as turning daylights off and actinics on. I guess we really need to spend more time figuring it out.

So I guess from your post that they can't go without the light for that long.

well, it could be fine or it could let go and get sucked up by a filter or overflow. but in general turning lights on and off manually isn't good for nems so risking it doesn't seem to have many benefits.

I don't have the antics separated from my daylight timing at the moment. haven't seen any problems. i would set it for the weekend, then figure out the whole antic timing when u get back

Oh geez, I don't want to risk that happening. I guess we are going to have to figure out the timer before we leave. Thank you. :)

The anemone can go several days without light and survive, but if it thinks it's been dark too long it will go looking for some light, and that's the real issue.

On my tank I just use 2 seperate timers, $15 each at Home Depot.
