How low can you go??

I've just plumbed my 46gallong tank and have a pump that im guessing sucks. I have 4 exits that are 2 locklines coming off 3/4" pipes that both split. There is hardly ANY pressure coming out of the outlets and although the water in the tank is moving, it's very very slow. I want to keep some softies eventually but I think I will need more flow. My question is can you have a flow that is too low for saltwater tanks?

Flow can be too low if it does not offer enough oxyegen exchange or if it leads to continual detritus build up in the rock work. the rule of thumb for seahorse tanks is 3 to 5x the tank volume per hour, which will feel pretty low IME.

What size is your tank?

How many GPH is your return pump pushing?

HTH

It's a quiet one that should push 350gph with 5' of head. The pipe T's and from there each side has 2 90*s and then goes to two 3/4" lockline exits, so I'm guessing the flow split up to four exits is going to be very very low.

Going to swap for a bigger pump today.
