How low to drill 100 gallon sump for Hammerhead pump

I need to drill my 100gallon sump and need to know how deep the drilled hole should be for a hammerhead pump.. Should be pulling 3000-4000 gph. I don't want it not to be deep enough where it sucks air and causes micro bubbles all over the tank.

I would suggest as low as you can. That's a LOT of flow through a 100g sump!

What are the dimensions?

You might also want to put a T on the inside of the sump to divide the amount of water flowing into the pump. I think I would drill a BUNCH of holes into the T also.

Set the pump next to the sump with your shutoff valve an union attached, then push the plumbing up against the sump where you want it. Take a magic marker draw around the plumbing pipe and thats your spot ! Thats how did all mine and just built a riser grate inside to keep debris out . Make sure you mount the pump to something and maybe a thin layer of foam for vibration and do this before you mock it up, so your hole isnt to low to put the wood/foam in after the fact.

it is a rubber maid sump

In this pic I'm going to move the New Saltwater contain to the right side of the sump and put the pump on the left side. I guess what I will do is build a little pallet for the pump to sit on.

When I talked to the people that make the pump they said since it has a 1.5" intake to run a 2" from the tank and down size that to a 1.5" at the pump.

The blue drum will not be there either and the pipe from the pump goes straight up into the floor . So that will give me more room on both sides of the sump.

Yeah that fine or even thinner would work better probably. The pump wont get to hot at all and I just used that thin pink house wrap under my pump then set it on a piece of plywood.
