How many fish can i fit in a biocube?

I'm thinking of getting a 29 gallon biocube and getting like 4 fish , a small purple tang, 2 false perculas, and some kind of blenny. Am I over stocking it or just at the limit?

the percs and blenny should be fine, but a 29g is way too small for any tang, let alone a purple tang.

+1 on no tang. some type of flasher wrasse might be nice. 4 is a good number of fish for a 29g biocube. that is what i have and i cant imagine adding another.

As far as algae goes, i'd suggest bulking up on your clean-up crew.

And + 1 on a fairy wrasse instead of the tang.

lots of pretty and peaceful reefsafe wrasses out there.

i would skip the tang.. my purple tang was qt in a walmart 29g and had to cut his qt short because he was litteraly bouncing off the 4 panes of glass constantly and almost gohst white in color...dropped him into the 200g and he was a beautiful purple in less than 1 minute and has maintained his beautiful purple and he was quarter size at that time

in my 30g reef tank(if you want to call it a reef tank) i have

a pair of pink skunk clowns
scissor tail dartfish
purple fire fish
1/2 black drawf angel

I would skip the tang too because long term it's not a good idea, but I am really surprised by all the stories of tangs stressing short term in QT tanks. I have qt'ed all my tangs in a 10g with no bouncing off the walls.
