I have small purple tang, small copperband, small sixline, full sized cleaner wrasse, medium 3 lytrail anthias, 1 hawkfish and two small clown fish. I have ich in my tank can I put them in 20 gal long? What is the MAX # you say? I don't have room for another tank or a brute...
Thanks,

how many fish in 20gal LONG

Is this a troll post? Or are you
Asking about a qt? If asking about a qt, I don't think that will work. Especially not for several months during a fallow period

I wouldn't put any more fish in there , and I would actually get rid of the ones you do have and keep a pair of clowns or somthing

He's asking whether he can use a 20 long for a treatment tank for these fish.

Seriously, I'd get a second 20 long and split that community into two tanks. You also need pretty potent circulation. Tangs in particular take high oxygen---a lot. Big lot. Adding a bubbler might not be a bad idea.

Sorry o red the question wrong . I apologize . If you move all the fish to one tank , the uninflected fish may get ich . In the past I have just treated my whole display tank and everything in it . I used Seachem Para guard . No copper in it . So you don't have to worry about any coral or inverts

no.

I had 3 gramma, 2 percula, 2 marine betta and a blenny in a 10 gallon QT for quite some time without problems.

With your fish you should be fine in a 20 gallon tank. But I would make sure to have enough structures and hiding places.
For the clowns it is best to add a ceramic flowerpot - some like them better than anemones that are not their natural hosts.

I'm talking about a QT and I do not have room for another tank.. Right now they are all in my DT all the fish have ich..I have been treating with garlic, selcon, installed a UV obviously it will not kill the ich but @ least help.. so my only option is #1 fight ich in my main DT and hopefully live with it. or #2 put them all in a 20 gal LONG.. yes or nah?

I think it all depends on whether you are willing to follow a very strict qt protocol after you treat these current fish, because if not then the qt would be pointless and I'm not sure all of those fish will make it through a qt together. They might, don't get me wrong, but it's a lot of fish for a 20 long. If it was a 40 breeder then I would say absolutely go for it. If you would even add a 10 gallon qt in addition to the 20 long then I would say absolutely go for it. If you remove them all and put them into the 20, what is your method of treatment for the ich going to be?

Ok. I think you should at least try it. But be prepared to be doing pretty much daily water changes. I have also read that you can't use prime with copper products, so keep that in mind. I would get a bunch of different pvc pipes ( sizes and shapes) and make up as much new water as you can for the daily water changes. If it ends up being too hard to maintain you can always put the fish back in and go to ich management techniques vs ich eradication.

ich management techniques - i think I have tried all so far..garlic,selcon,ginger,ich attack, doc g's caviar, vitachem, kent marine C, lost 2 tangs 1 anthias and a royal gramma.. my purple tang is covered but no reason to try to stress them out more to catch them (which will be impossible without destroying my aquascape) if I can't put all of them in my QT...

I'd suggest buying a 40b from Petco $ per gal sale. But that said the 20 long is 30"x12x12 so it's going to be very tight with that many fish.

Some people in my local reef club swear by raw ginger. You could add a diatom filter?

No.

Paraguard doesn't do jack, and especially has killed my cleaner shrimps.

I agree that copper (paragaurd) isn't that effective of a treatment, and quite aggressive.

But you should know that it should only be used in a qt with fish as copper is harmful to inverts...

If buying another 20 gallon long is not an option, maybe go get a 40 gallon breeder as mentioned earlier to replace it. I don't think that size tank is going to do the trick with that many fish and aggressive fish for the fallow period of your DT.

Don't have room for any other tanks or a 40 gal.
