How many fish in a 210g reef

I have a 210g that im stocking slowing (setup about a year now) and i need to know how much more i can add. I dont have many corals yet...some plusing xenia and one small green leather polyp
There is 150-200lbs sand 200lbs live rock a 55g sump and 10g refug
i use a rlss r8i skimmer and a have a reactor for carbon/gfo and use 3 evergrow leds i do want to add more corals but i want more fish so im not sure when to stop adding.
so far i have
4 green chromis
1 fire fish
1 diamond goby
1 yellow tang
2 cardinals
2 clowns
1 valentini puffer
1 coral beauty
1 bi color angel
handful of crabs and snails maybe 10 of each (i know i need more)
2 shrimp (1 fire 1 peppermint)
1 emerald crab

Thats a very low bio load, you have plenty of room for more fish. Quantity wise really depends on what kind of fish. 20 chromis or a couple of tangs and angels

I'd stay away from more than 1 Chromis. They will likely kill each other, even in a 210 until there's 1 left.

I have same tank, and here's my load:

Ocellaris clownfish - Amphiprion ocellaris (male) (Indonesia, Maldives, Africa/tank raised)

I finished stocking about 4 months ago and I am happy with the activity and bioload.

When I had my 210 I easily kept 3 tangs, a single foxface, large angel and 2 dwarf angels along with an assortment of other average size fish, all in all if I remember right 22-24 fish total.

You certainly have room for more.

I have a 210g and with the list you have it will look like nothing is really in the tank

:lolspin: 'Fish, I don't see no fish'

Certainly swimming room is an important factor, but beyond that it's simply import/export: how much do you feed, and are your export mechanisms up to the challenge. If you have crappy filtration, five fish may be too many; if you have excellent filtration, 30 may not be enough (depending on size, of course).

Not saying you're wrong, but I have had 3 green chromis in my 90 for 6-8 months. I originally bought 3 and one died right away. I bought 2 more a month or two later. Of those two, one jumped out of the tank within a few days. The surviving 3 are fine. They hang out and sleep near each other at night.

I am getting a 210 soon. My tank had a complete failure last night and this guy in my town has a 210 that I am getting off of him. I don't even know where to start with stocking it haha. So I will be following along on this thread

If that's really true, it's an indordinantly bad idea.
Why? He's had them in there for about 2 years with no problem and he knows when they get bigger he'll either upgrade the tank or move some out if it works for you it works, no law what you have to do. My friend been in the hobby for a long time and wouldn't put nice tangs in his tank to let them die/kill each other

Yes, certainly no 'law' ..... maybe some common sense though. I suppose 14 tiny yellow tangs might be OK for a while, though if they've been there for two years then they aren't small anymore (unless they're not healthy ..... ). Wonder how many 'get a bigger tank' plans actually get realized? Not many I'd bet. Don't think it's an approach to copy. Just my opinion, of course.

I had 10 green chromis's and kept losing 1 every once in a while till i got to 4 and ive had the same 4 for 6+ mo. but i did read that they will kill each other. I wanted a big school/shoal but it didnt work.

I started this tank on a budget so it was started with 90% dry rock about 100 pound of homemade garf rock (portland cement crushed coral/shells) 75lbs dry marco and 15lbs marco seed rock. So i have been adding very slowly so the bi load could build up and this tank never even had a real cycle. My garf rock has worked great so far. I also used black estes med broadcast sand. I have used this sand in freshwater for years and never had problems and i works great in s/w ive seen worms in it and my goby seems to love it and can make caves in it.

Similar experience, though mine didn't stop at 4 ....... rather 2! Resplendent anthias are my favorite schoaling fish, particularly if there are some big fish in the tank.
