I'm wondering how many fish I can pack into my glass box. So to all large tank owners could you post how many fish you have in what size tank and how many are large (tangs, large angels etc). If I put in everything I want I'll have 5 large angels, 4 tangs, 2 Rabbitfish, a Trigger and smaller fish like Anthias, Grammas, Cardinals, Pygmy Angels etc - maybe 40 total. Just wondering if it can be done. :)

I have 7 tangs, about 25 total. I am going to add 2 more tangs and will add others as I come across them in the LFS.

My new tank is build with two large atolls of live rocks with a open area in between so I can keep lots of fish that would otherwise fight.

As long as you plan for the water quality it can be done.

My tank have 350Gal and total is 500 Gal system.

I have:
3 medium tangs
2 small angels
4 clown fishes
9 green chromis
1 firefish

I had close to 60 fish in my old 260. Way too many for most were anthias but it sure was cool at feeding time! I think with more modern filtration you can push the envelope depending on what corals you are keeping. I had all softies and they grew like crazy with the extra food!

Cheers guys. I think I might be planning a bit on the heavy side but hopefully with vodka dosing it can be done.

I have 20 of these already:

1 Blue Line Angel
2 Juvie Emperor Angel
2 Regal Angel
1 Goldflake or Blueface Angel
1 Coral Beauty
1 Flame Angel
1 Potters Angel

1 Powder Blue Tang
1 Yellow Tang
1 Clown Tang
1 Naso Tang
2 Rabbitfish

1 Copperband Butterfly
1 Heniochus

1 Niger Trigger

7 Anthias
1 Female Clarkii
1 Male Clarkii
5 Bangaii Cardinals (1 pair, 3 spawned)
2 LongNose Hawkfish
5 Royal Grammas
2 Sand Sifting Gobies

If I had to drop some I guess I could do just one of each Regal and Emperor and drop the hawkfish. I know I'm probably pushing it but over the next 12 months I would like to get all these. They are fish I've always wanted and I've had the big tak up 4 years now.

bullitr, love your avatar, that C6 is sweet!

In my 210g FOWLR I have:
Queen angel
Passer angel
French angel
Sohal tang
Purple tang
Salfin tang (red sea)
Blochii tang
Klunzinger wrasse
Clown trigger
Brazilian Dragon Moray
2 damsels

I have credit at an online store and planning on getting a Golden Heart trigger and either an emperor or bluering angel. I know its a bit much, but its a FOWLR tank, I skim wet, dose vodka, have a decent refugium/cheato, do water changing while vacuuming out the BB tank. I do have an upgrade in the works.

240 g - 10 fish.

1 chevron tang - 4"
1 sohal tang - 4"
1 achilles tang - 4"
1 sixline - 2"
1 red hawkfish - 2"
2 female anthias - 2"
1 male anthias - 2"
2 x (pair) clown fish - 1 to 2"

What do you think I could safely keep in my 125? I notice people who post not to keep certain tangs together etc.. many of you have massive amounts of tangs. I have posted about this in numerous places usually with no answer. I currently have just a yellow tang, perc, blue damsel, and a clarki clown. Would like to have a couple more tangs. Naso, maybe a powder blue or blue hippo.

Is that tank 48" long? Definitely don't get a Naso as they get big quick. I love the Powder Blue and think it would be a good choice for you. Or the Blue Hippo. I'm not big into Tangs as I like colourful fish and many are just plain dull. Give me a Yellow Tank over an Gem Tang any day.

So maybe 72x18x24? Still too narrow for a Naso. It will hardly be able to do a u-turn. :)
