Of course, number of fish means different things for different fish.

My display is ~480 with about 1,430 total gallons. Right now I count 62 fish, plus 13 larval seahorses. But, my one dussimieri tang is a heck of a lot more of a load on the system than the however many chromis that are running around. For that matter, the seahorse larvae are probably more of a load than several of the other fish since they need so much food.

300 gallon display with 500 gallon total system volume. 4 tangs sailfin, purple, yellow and tomini all btn 2 and 4 inches 3 angels flame, small asfur, 5 inch regal 4 damsels 2 mandarin 1 flame hawk 4 cardinals 1 pink barred goby 7 wrasses 3 solarensis, leopard, 6line,melanurus, yellow 6 clowns pair of skunks, percs, bicintus 5 lyretail anthias. i love the look of the tank which is a mix of sps and lps. my 10 year old son said that it looks a little crowded and we need the sps to grow in so more of the fish are hidden. im feeling alot less guilty about the load now that ive read some of the lists people are putting up. i also am a heavy feeder but with a good skimmer my nitrates have stayed <2ppm with undetectable phosphates.
