How many here successfully qt'd a hippo tang?

I bought my 1.5 inches hippo on 8th of this month and it isnt touching any food except for nori (Ocean nutrition & Julian sprung). I've been trying to feed him brine shrimps and Hikari Marine S in addition to nori. Should i be worried?

Keep offering Hikari mysis, spirulina enriched brine, and small bits of meaty foods like chopped seafood from your grocery store. Is it in a qt? If not, it may be having trouble competing with established fish. If in a qt, are you sure you have no ammonia present?

As a last resort, try some live brine.

Thanx for the reply Dr. Its actually in DT after spending 2 weeks in QT. I m new to saltwater hobby, and its only the 2nd fish after ocellaris, so no competition yet. I ve now started putting mysis on nori, roll it and put it on the clip and the fish doesnt seem to mind it. Havent yet tried chopped sea food, will give it a try. Any advice on type of seafood? or anything will be fine?

I feed my fish a mix of chopped scallop, shrimp, clam and salmon every morning. Freeze in a ziplock bag and slice off a teaspoon worth to feed. The fish all eat it more aggressively than any other food I feed. 1/4 lb of each food and 5 large clams will last months and it is cheaper than prepared fish food.
