mines about 7 hours... depends on where lights are as well as what type of bulbs and fixtures. hqi's run less heat then mogel base for instance and things like hamilton pendants run less heat then jalli's... so it really depends. mines about 80 though...
Best way to cool your tank down is to blow a fan across your sump. The evaporative effect can drop you tank temp by more than 5 degrees. I have a large sump with 2 fans. I no longer use my chiller. Saves on electricity as well
MH's 8 hrs and t-5 blues 10 hours. I have 4-4" fans in my canopy that run while the lights are on also timed to come on several other times when lights are not on. I do have a chiller, the heater and chiller are set 1.25 degree apart my tank goes between low 79 to mid 80 degree.
The tank has been set up since October so I have not gone through a summer yet curious how it will be. Hopefully not to bad I live in a mild area to reach the 90's here in the summer maybe a couple of day to a week worth during the summer.
