How many mouths?

I have a magnifica that has 2 mouths. Is this normal or is it a sign that it is splitting?

Normal. It is not splitting, just stressed.

How long have you had the animal? Tank parms?

I have had it 2 weeks. Sg 1.024, no2 0, no3 0, temp 79 ,ammonia 0, ca 0

The lighting is 2 250W MH 14k. Tank is 24" tall and I have read the FAQ and a lot more reading to ensure that I knew what I was getting into The flow in the tank is as follows: Seio 1100, Aquaclear 802, 50 and return from sump @ 400gph all arranged to create a chaotic flow in most of the tank.

Many times mags come in already doomed (bacterial infection, etc).

2x400w 10k should serve it right, along with alternate Tunze Streamers on both long ends of the tank.

Your mag WILL climb up to the lights, watch for overflows and pumps.
