how many nasaurius?

going to get some nasuarius snails to help clean/sift my sand. i have a 150 gallon. it is only 30"x48".
how many nasaurius do you think will do the job?

What type nasaurius snails are your getting? There are the large ones, I think they are from Tonga region. Then there are the very small ones, from where, I am unsure.

I usually stock my tanks with the large Tonga snails, and I average 1 snail per 3 gallons. Less if I have other sand sifting critters, like star fish or cucumbers. So I would put in 50 snails.

easily 25 but not something crazy like 50 ,they need enough food "detruis"to survive .

start with less than what you think you and need and add slowly over time. If your tank is new it needs some time to build up a food source for them.

He didn't mention his tank was new, from his tag line, it sounded established.
I still would put 50 in if it was the only source of sand sifting.

I have 50 of the smaller nassarius snails in my 100 gallon. I also have 10 of the tonga nassarius.
