How many of you knew Hanna has a Control/Standard for the Alkalinity test kit?

I found this item by happenstance as I browsed the Hanna website.

A Control/Standard is a very commonly performed step in professional lab equipment to ensure the equipment is working properly. As a matter of fact it is required for medical testing of lab equipment.

Easiest way to explain it is...you feed the equipment a "known" value, and the equipment should test it at that value. It allows you to know for sure that the equipment is working and reading correctly. If the "control" reads out of the standard deviation, the equipment needs service.

Well, I bought it and used it. My Hanna Alk checker is right on point. :bounce3:

Man...you guys are really on top of things. I didnt know and had never heard of it. I think its an awesome tool!:headwallblue:

hmm! wonder if they have one for phosphate, every time I use it I get a different reading. Pick the best out of three lol

Never heard of it. Can I borrow it, LOL! Anytime I get a new pack I test it against the old. As long as its close I'm good. After all its not the number, but how stable it is right?

Borrow it? maybe. Yes its about stability, but what if your meter was off a few DKH and leaning towards the dark side yet stable in the dark side?

thanks for the heads up eddie, i will add that some of the salifert kits include a control standard too, it usually the bottle that no one knows what it is for

Been there done that. It will also do it with the alk and as you stated pick it when its 2 out of 3 times the same.
