How many of you ONLY use wrasse to eradicate pests and succeed I did

I got a yellow and a green coris wrasse. I never dip at all and they seems to pretty much wipe out my RB/Nudis/FW infestation. They're always out in the open to hunt and only sand dive when I turn off the light. Maybe I'm just lucky to find buy for I know other sps keepers that probably employ the same fish with little or limited success. Next up, im going to get a six line not too sure cuz i heard they can be a punk to other fish especially wrasses :hmm5:

Won't work for long. They are places they can't reach. I was just blasting with an mj1200 once a week and letting my wrasses do the rest. Needed to move things around found stashes that the wrasses / blasting couldn't get to. You need a little more effort then just fish.

you should still practice safe-dipping. no telling what pathogens they may be carrying as well. I always cut off the rock the coral is on as well just to be safe

i have had success with my 6 line wrasse, but i also inspect everything and dip. unfortunately another tank for quarantining is not an option.

I've never heard of any fish eradicating red bugs... they are just so tiny!

If you choose to neglect coral dipping thats fine...its your conscious choice, but dont imply to others that a wrasse is an acceptable means of curing pests from reef tanks. Its bad advice like this that perpetuates pest species in our hobby:headwally:.

I had success removing zoa eating nudis and monti eating nudis, yellow wrasse and 6 line wrasse respectively.

The only problem I've ever had was with monti eating nudi's. I tried to manually remove them with very little success. Then I added a yellow coris wrasse, problem solved. Haven't seen a single one in a loooooong time.

We had a flatworm problem several years ago and dosed iodine and a few days later they all died off. There was a ring of bodies around all our live rock. Was weird. Not sure if it was the iodine or coincidence.

so you can get kicked off for something as that? or do you... have to upset the moderators? or... ?? so "moved on" is just another kind way of saying "kicked out" ??

Yes "moved on" = banned. Not that I would know from any prior first hand experiences or anything.. :strooper:

and FYI not once did I imply to other that wrasse is an acceptable way to curing pest. I just wanted to know if other share the same success. Read before you jump the gun.
