How many perc can yo ukeep in the same tank happily?

My display tank is 110g (5x24x17 inches) with 2 6 inch magnificas at either end. I tried keeping 2 pairs of common clowns (2 orange & white and 2 black & white) hoping that they would keep to their own mags but unfortunately they like moving from one to the other and are squabbling.
I am now thinking of maybe getting more clowns like some of you guys. My question is, how many clowns would you recommend I get to eliminate the fighting?
The 4 clowns I currently have are all around 3.5cm, should I get ones of similar size or does it not matter?

This will not work, period. Harem tanks must be started as Harem tanks not upgraded to Harem tanks. You are only going to end up with a lot of dead clowns.

I would only suggest one pair of clownfish in one tank. More than that usually end up with losses...

I think the op is thinking about the clown harem tanks that we've all seen at one point or another. In that case u will need to start off with a clutch of juvies from the same batch and let them grow up together. Have not had any personal experience here just from what I've seen and read.

I question how well a harem tank would work even if started that way. I tried this with tomato clowns, worked short term, about 6 months. Percs are less aggressive, so maybe.

Tomato clowns are evil bastards. Percs are sweeties.

I have done harems. But started with very small clowns. Now in a 40 IM I am running in the bedroom, I got lucky... had a pair of Gold Stripe Maroons, found a juvilnile Gold Nugget. Added it with extreme caution. Female took right up with him. The other male was fine with it. Now we have a manag.....
